 In unusual fashion, the Macon County MS4 Work Group brings to you "Virtual Resources for Contractors Workshop" for you and your employees to utilize.  In the screens below you will find videos, links and training opportunities from our presenters to share with you and we are grateful for the time each of them took to provide us with key information.

This virtual event will be published February 1, 2021 and will be available as our annual Contractors Workshop through February 28, 2021. Feel free to share with your employees!

Oversized/Overweight Permitting

 This is the website for all oversize overweight permits.  

If a permit holder  has a Limited Continuous Operations permit (seasonal), a free route authorization is available through our sight. This guarantees them safe route that will not damage any structures, fit everywhere and clears all truck restrictions.  The site has a GREAT map that shows who has jurisdiction on every road AND the contacts to get local road permits/permission.

Green Infrastructure Best Management Practices

The presentation above discusses the benefits of "green infrastructure" compared to conventional stormwater management, and how it can be a good alternative to conventional practices as well as how it can reduce nonpoint source pollution in urban environments.

National Pollutant Discharge Elimination System (NPDES)

The link above discusses important updates regarding stormwater discharge, the regulations associated with various types of industrial activity, and various other permit related information.

Pipeline Safety Training

Local pipeline operators are sponsoring a pipeline safety training through Paradigm.  You will need to create a username and password. This training offers:

  • Take the training based on your schedule
  • Ability to download pipeline specific electronic documents
  • Access to your county specific pipeline sponsor information
  • Certificate of completion after completing a course
  • Ability to retake the entire course or specific sections
  • Available upon completion of state program schedule

Illinois Pipeline Awareness Meeting Schedule

The link above will take you to the schedule for various virtual pipeline trainings intended for contractors, excavators, first responders, and/or public officials.  Upon completion, you will receive a certificate and two CEUs.

Safely Digging Around Underground Lines

The video link above, created by Ameren Illinois, talks about the importance of calling 8-1-1 (JULIE) before digging. Calling 8-1-1 can potentially save you from repair costs, legal issues, and a headache. This video discusses the process of calling 8-1-1 from start to finish, and what you should expect after calling. It's free, and it's required by the state of Illinois.
